I am very excited to announce that my novella Duet with a Dokkaebi was released today! It is the first in a five book series called Demon of my Dreams. The novella follows K-pop star and ghost-smiting Guardian Hanji as she tries (and fails) not to fall in love with dokkaebi k-pop star Sungmin while also tracking down an evil ghost that is targeting the idol industry. The ebook is available on Kobo (including Kobo Plus), Amazon, Apple Books and others right now, and will also eventually be available through libraries on programs like Hoopla. I am also aiming to publish a paperback version of the book in about a month, so stay tuned for that!

Several months ago when I was struggling to finish The Nest, a contemporary romance set in Glasgow about K-pop star Daehyun and single mom Livia, my friend had the idea of adding magic into the story to create a fantasy k-pop universe. At the time I couldn’t figure out a good way to work magic into the story, but the idea lingered for months until I watched K-Pop demon hunters a few weeks ago.

Watching the movie inspired me to give the fantasy k-pop world another try, and this time I decided to create a world that could coexist with all of my favorite stories. Duet with a Dokkaebi is the first novella of a 5-book series, but it is also the first publication in a much broader world that can expand to include several other series and stories I’ve been working on — including The Nest

I’m really excited to explore this world further with you, and I hope you enjoy this first introduction to it!
